Media Managers finds the skills in Skillings

1 July 2009

In keeping with the company strategy of recruiting only the most experienced media executives, Gail Skillings has joined Media Managers as an Account Director.

Gail is one of the most experienced media specialists in the East of England. While working for Ogilvy and Mather in their London media operation, Gail planned and negotiated multi-million pound campaigns on TV for clients like Beechams, Ford, Milk Marketing Board, IDV and Henri Wintermans. Deciding that her career development would be best served by gaining experience with a media owner she joined ITV and negotiated with agencies across a broad range of campaigns and client sectors. Part of her role was to develop sales policies and strategies as well as training ITV’s local business team to exploit market opportunities.

Leaving ITV, Gail joined Time Warner Enterprises as Marketing Manager, where she was responsible for the international development of direct response business, specialising in music. Gail extended the Time Warner music business into new territories as well as managing media buying and evaluation of UK and international media.

Gail’s track record of developing advertising strategies for blue chip clients and then taking them to market fits perfectly into the key strengths of the Media Managers proposition. Her experience crosses global agency groups, media owners as well as international marketing, which adds even more strength in depth to our clients.

Alistair Wayne, managing director of the Media Managers Group, believes that Gail is a key appointment, ‘Gail has amongst the best project management and account handling skills in the business. She completely understands the media in a way few could hold a candle to. With her work at Ogilvy & Mather, ITV and Time Warner, we have added an additional breadth of capability to our team. I fully expect Gail to make a serious impact on new business, as clients want the depth and high level experience of media planning and buying which she brings. This appointment further cements our position as the leading media specialist in the East of England and one of the key players outside of London’.
